Lately, I have been thinking a lot about the begin Lately, I have been thinking a lot about the beginner’s mind. By choosing to shake up my life 360 degrees, leave everything behind of my old life, and adapt to a slower pace of life on the other side of the world. It feels like I am shedding my old skin and learning (almost) everything again from scratch.

Having a beginner's mind is seeing the world through a beginner's eyes. The term is translated from the Zen Buddhist word Shoshin. It means you approach each situation as if it were the first time you’re seeing it.

Shoshin was introduced by the late Shunryu Suzuki in his book Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind:

"If your mind is empty... it is open to everything." There are many possibilities in the beginner's mind, but only a few in the expert's mind."

Whether it is learning a new language, culture or another skill, the ego can make us feel all the uncomfortable things. But there are so many benefits centering into this practice, like approaching a problem with more creativity, developing deeper gratitude and a positive attitude, which has several health benefits as well.

These 5 tips can give you some guidance to rediscover your beginner’s mind.

How do you approach new situations? Have you ever practiced the beginner’s mind in life or in business?

While I immerse myself in beautiful Mexico and its While I immerse myself in beautiful Mexico and its nature, culture, and traditions, today I am honoring Día de los Muertos.

Diving in and learning about this ancient tradition, which is a celebration of all souls that have passed away. It touched my heart and inspired me to create these joyous color palettes 🧡

Celebrating the vibrant spirit as we step into this world of color mixed with culture.

Each palette tells a story: from the cempasúchil flower, symbolizing a union between life and death, to papel picado, representing one of the earth’s elements air. The skeletons, known as la catrinas, are an iconic symbol of death in Mexico. And lastly pan de muertos, a sweet bread that is part of the ofrenda, traditionally dipped in coffee or hot chocolate.

Mexico you never cease to amaze me. Filling my heart with love every day a bit more.

~ Vivir al máximo es la mejor ofrenda que le podemos dar a los muertos ~
